I’ve had this blog for over 6+ years so it’s with a heavy heart that I will be deleting it in a few weeks. I originally created this blog with the intent of tracking a new chapter in my life in NYC. Since then it’s grown slowly, and sometimes inconsistently, into a random smattering of personal thoughts & memories, and reblogs of inane yet funny things.

My decision to delete this blog comes at a time when i know my end in NYC is near as well. It all seems fitting now, doesn’t it?

Regardless, I want to thank all those who have followed me throughout the years and to my friends who have indulged me by reading this from time to time. And of course, thank you NYC for all the fodder.

"It is easy to see the beginnings of things, and harder to see the ends. I can remember now, with a clarity that makes the nerves in the back of my neck constrict, when New York began for me, but I cannot lay my  finger upon the moment it ended, can never cut through the ambiguities and second starts and broken resolves to the exact place on the page where the heroine is no longer as optimistic as she once was." - Joan Didion

it’s crazy to think how you much you can limit your own growth when you’re worried about someone else’s. i’ve been up and down but mostly up and that’s the best part. the last 2 years have been eye-opening and mind-changing…and full of wonderful new people in my life as well as those who have stayed as constant anchors. and i am beyond thankful.

When a trout rising to a fly gets hooked on a line and finds himself unable to swim about freely, he begins with a fight which results in struggles and splashes and sometimes an escape. Often, of course, the situation is too tough for him.
